The inaugural keynote explored how media organizations can move from AI experimentation to secure, scalable production, combining AWS technology with TensorOps’ applied AI engineering and agentic systems.
TensorOps and AWS Open the II Ibero-American Forum on AI Applied to Journalism, Bringing Production AI into the Newsroom

VALENCIA, Spain — October 2, 2026 — TensorOps and Amazon Web Services (AWS) opened the program of the II Ibero-American Forum on AI Applied to Journalism with an inaugural keynote focused on one of the most important questions facing the media industry today: how to turn the rapid advances in artificial intelligence into practical, reliable and responsible applications for journalism.
Held on September 30 and October 1 at Innsomnia Group’s Base 2 in Valencia, the Forum brought together more than 35 leaders from media organizations, technology companies, communications agencies and corporate communications teams across Spain and Latin America to examine how AI is reshaping journalism, newsrooms and the wider communications industry.

The opening session was led by Alberto Gurbindo, Enterprise Solutions Architect Manager at AWS, and Gad Benram, Cofounder & CTO of TensorOps.
AWS opened the discussion by examining the speed at which artificial intelligence is being adopted across journalism and the challenges organizations now face as they move beyond experimentation.

The conversation highlighted a fundamental shift taking place in 2026: organizations are moving from proofs of concept and isolated pilots toward AI systems that must operate reliably at production scale.
At that stage, technical capabilities alone are not enough. Security, privacy, scalability, observability, explainability, governance and cost control become critical requirements.
AWS also emphasized the importance of choosing technology based on the problem being solved rather than simply adopting the newest or most powerful model. Flexible architectures and a clear understanding of cost, reliability and business requirements are becoming increasingly important as the AI ecosystem continues to evolve.
This is where the partnership between AWS and TensorOps plays an important role.
As an AWS Partner specializing in taking AI from strategy to production, TensorOps combines applied AI engineering with AWS cloud and AI capabilities to help organizations turn promising use cases into production-ready systems.
The joint opening demonstrated that approach in practice: AWS provided the perspective on the infrastructure, governance and operational foundations required to scale AI, while TensorOps showed what those foundations can enable inside real-world media workflows.
TensorOps focused its part of the keynote on the next stage of AI adoption in journalism.
Rather than viewing artificial intelligence solely as a productivity tool for tasks such as writing, editing or summarization, Gad Benram explored how AI is beginning to enable forms of investigative and analytical work that previously would have been difficult or impossible because of the volume of information involved.

The session then looked ahead to the emergence of agentic AI systems capable of carrying out longer, multi-step tasks, working with different data sources and coordinating specialized activities.

TensorOps demonstrated its vision through Pulitzer, an experimental AI newsroom agent designed to operate more like an additional member of a journalistic team than a traditional chatbot.
The concept illustrated how an AI agent could continuously process information, retain context, connect signals across large datasets and support journalists during complex investigations. TensorOps also showed how multiple specialized agents could eventually collaborate across a newsroom workflow — for example, with different agents supporting source validation, research, follow-up questions or other parts of the reporting process.
Importantly, the presentation also addressed the limitations of these systems. As AI becomes more autonomous, human judgment, editorial responsibility and awareness of model bias become even more important. The future described at the Forum was therefore not one in which AI replaces journalists, but one in which journalists gain increasingly capable systems that they must understand, direct and govern responsibly.

AWS and TensorOps continued the conversation beyond the keynote through demonstrations at their event stand, giving participants the opportunity to explore applied AI use cases in more detail.
The Forum extended the discussion across two days of panels, presentations and practical sessions.
The first day focused heavily on the transformation taking place inside media organizations: integrating AI into newsroom workflows, maintaining editorial control and trust, applying AI to audiovisual production, increasing operational efficiency and adapting media business models.
Participants included leaders and specialists from organizations such as PRISA Media, Grupo Godó, Agencia EFE, RTVE, Ábside Media, Europa Press, Vocento, EL ESPAÑOL, La Razón and Telefónica Tech, among others.
The second day broadened the conversation beyond traditional newsrooms to examine the impact of AI on communications agencies, corporate communications and Public Affairs.
Representatives from Kreab, ATREVIA, Prodigioso Volcán and Good Rebels discussed the next generation of agencies and the relationship between talent, technology and AI. Leaders from Cabify, EDP, Nealis and Microsoft explored how communications departments are incorporating AI into their organizations.
The Forum also examined how journalists themselves should cover artificial intelligence, with contributions from professionals representing WILDcom, Valencia Plaza, elDiario.es and Xataka, while Alejandro Vignoni of IDEAS UPV addressed the transition from simply using AI to building with it.
The event closed with international perspectives and practical experiences from La Nación in Argentina and Diario Financiero in Chile, reinforcing the Ibero-American dimension of the Forum.
For TensorOps and AWS, the Forum reflected a shared objective: helping organizations move beyond experimentation and build AI systems that can create measurable value in real operating environments.
The media industry provides a particularly important example. AI can give journalists access to new analytical capabilities, help organizations process information at unprecedented scale and create entirely new workflows. But realizing those opportunities requires technology that is secure, governed, scalable and designed around the needs of the people who will actually use it.
By combining AWS’s cloud and AI capabilities with TensorOps’ applied AI engineering and production expertise, the partnership is focused on closing that gap — turning AI possibilities into systems organizations can deploy, operate and scale.
The II Ibero-American Forum on AI Applied to Journalism was organized by Innsomnia Group, with the support of AWS, TensorOps, Xalok – Hiberus Media Labs, Protecmedia, S2i Media Solutions, IDEAS UPV and Cámara Valencia, together with collaborating organizations including Generalitat Valenciana, RTVE and Mercadona.
