Our new website is live! But this isn't just a redesign. It's a story about how we leveraged AI and the Cloud to break free from managed platforms and take complete control of our brand.

The Flexibility Trap: Why We Ditched Wix

We used to run on Wix, and it's a fantastic product—for a time. But as our needs grew more sophisticated, we hit a wall. Simple requests for advanced features like custom banners became a struggle. We eventually found ourselves custom-coding components just to work around the platform's limitations.

That was our lightbulb moment. If we were already doing our own development, why not own the entire technology stack? The AI revolution gave us the answer, turning what used to be a massive undertaking into a strategic advantage. It’s not just about efficiency; it's about ultimate flexibility.

The Content Conundrum: Why We Scrapped Our World-Class Blog

For years, we played by the old rules of content marketing. We invested heavily in creating deeply researched, high-quality technical articles. And it worked. Our posts, like Miguel Neves's renowned articles on Mixture of Experts and LLM Quantization, drove tens of thousands of daily visitors and shot us to the top of Google's search results.

But the game has changed, thanks to AI. We faced a two-front assault on our content strategy:

AI-Powered Plagiarism: Competitors and partners began using LLMs to scrape our valuable content, apply minor edits, and then outrank us with our own hard-won insights.

The ChatGPT Effect: ChatGPT indexed our knowledge so well that users could get answers directly from the chatbot, never needing to visit our site. Our expertise was being used, but we were cut out of the loop.

The ROI on creating premium content and giving it away for free had evaporated. So, we made a tough decision: for now, we're abandoning that playbook entirely. Our new site is an unapologetic stage for our message. We remain deeply committed to the community and will continue sharing knowledge through live meetups and webinars, but our most valuable written content will no longer be posted for free.

Eating Our Own Dog Food on Google Cloud

Even for an AI and Cloud consultancy like ours, a custom website used to mean a DevOps headache. Every hour one of our top consultants spent on our own site was an hour they couldn't spend on a client project.

This time, we used our own arsenal. By leveraging tools like Claude Code and the Gemini CLI, we slashed development costs. We engineered interactive prompts that guided us through deployment, turning complex command-line tasks on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) into a simple, question-and-answer process.

Combined with Serverless architecture and Infrastructure-as-Code via gcloud, our deployment times plummeted. This is the massive competitive edge that AI provides.

The Bottom Line: When Your Website is an Investment, Not an Expense

As CEO, the old site was a constant source of friction. Its design limitations diluted our brand message, and the feedback was brutal. Hearing from top candidates that our site "looked like a joke" or seeing clients question our expertise was a clear sign that the "negligible" cost of Wix was creating massive, hidden damages.

This new site is an investment that's already paying dividends in positive feedback (along with a few angry messages from fans of our now-vanished blog posts!).

At TensorOps, the cobbler's children don't go barefoot. We're proud to be using the very AI solutions we provide to our clients to drive our own business success. We're not just selling it, we're building our future on it.
